Bio
Coach Mark Hopkins serves as the Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach at Rouse High School, bringing over 21 years of coaching experience across multiple sports, including football, baseball, track, girls basketball, and club softball. Throughout his career, Coach Hopkins has consistently built competitive programs, leading teams to the Texas high school playoffs in 17 of his 21 seasons, with two semifinal appearances and multiple regional semifinal runs.
Before arriving at Rouse, Coach Hopkins coached at Round Rock Stony Point, North Shore, Willowridge, Mayde Creek, and Katy Tompkins, gaining experience at a variety of successful programs across the state. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing, along with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
At the core of Coach Hopkins’ program is a commitment to developing student-athletes into champions both on and off the field. The Rouse Football program is built on the foundation of E.T.R.T.W.—Earn The Right To Win—through Class and Character. Class means being the best at what you do, while Character reflects who you are in every situation.
Athletes earn that right by living out the program’s core values: Hard Work (Second Mile), Toughness (Attack the Challenge), Discipline (CWCW), Family (Forget About Me, I Love You), and Finish (Leave No Doubt). Coach Hopkins believes that in football and in life, success is earned through consistent effort, accountability, and commitment—nothing is given, everything is earned.
Coach Hopkins and his wife, Valerie, have been married for 21 years and are proud parents of four daughters: Paige, Kate, Julia, and Holly.
